An early start but worth it with seven live blasts (c.25mins of air time) on BBC Radio Northampton’s breakfast show for client Silverstone Park.
This was part of the activity which we’d helped Silverstone Park to formulate to celebrate the forthcoming International Women’s Day.
We started with SP’s Commercial Director Roz Bird and her take on the issue of gender equality and diversity before moving on to Renette de Villiers at Performance Projects and a chat about what sparked her interest in becoming an engineer plus some of the top secret work she gets involved with.
This was followed by engineer Pauline Dumont and a look into some of low carbon vehicle technology she has developed for Delta Motosport. Finally, it was Claire Waterson’s turn to explain the accuracy (1/1000th of a millimetre) to which Hexagon’s machines scan/measure componentry for F1, automotive, aerospace, space, defence etc inside Silverstone Park’s Metrology Facility.
Love making plans and then seeing them in action! Still reeling from the fact the Beeb’s presenter Tom Percival arrived before me!
